Dear Readers,

Implementing universal healthcare coverage in developing countries is an important issue. Almásiet al. discuss in their article how non-governmental paying schemes can support this development and how multidimensional this issue is.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a commonly underestimated disease due to its non-life-threatening character. However, not only it greatly affects quality of life, but also it has a significant economic burden. In this issue we published a review on indirect costs of AD.

Biotechnology, specifically medical biotechnology, is an important industry sector. In Poland this sector is still in early stage of development, regardless of its rapid growth. Ratajczak et al. wrote an article about prospects of this industry in Polish market.

We also recommend reading a paper regarding quality of life of residents of nursing homes in Poland, as well as an analysis on a recall of medicines containing valsartan from Polish market and how patients reacted to this occurence online.
