CONFERENCES

Our 8th annual conference will take place on 16 April 2021 in Warsaw.

Once again we will discuss "hot topics" in Polish health policy and health care.

The scope will be suitable for medical doctors, professionals in pharmaceutical industry, state body representatives and academic researchers.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic the annual conference was an online-only meeting and was transmitted live.

Our Editor-In-Chief (Prof. Karina Jahnz-Różyk) gave a lecture on substantive and ethical issues in scientific publications.

Representatives of Polish Society for Pharmacoeconomics (ISPOR Poland Chapter) spoke about legislative changes in Polish public health sector.

We also hosted an interesting panel discussion (involving Chief Sanitary Inspector) regarding Polish health care system in times of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The conference has been recorded in Polish and is available for watching after contacting our Publisher- Pro Medicina Foundation.

 During plenary session following topics were discussed, among others:

-patient registries in ophthalmology

-new IT solutions in Polish health care

-healthcare needs maps

We also had a debate regarding the Polish Expert Group Position Statement on the Safety of Biological Treatments with Monoclonal Antibodies and Fusion Proteins (which was first published in 2014 and was updated in 2019).

In addition we hosted a session displaying most worthwhile articles that were published in recent issues of JHPOR.

Main topic: "Severe asthma and autoimmune diseases - from diagnosis to system solutions"
During 1st day of conference, it was placed a plenary session with two key speeches:

Major themes of asthma's session:
Phenotypes of asthma; Differences in asthma in children; Psychological aspects; drug programs; co-morbidities; costs of asthma; reimbursement and market access
Major themes of autoimmune session:
psoriasis; multiple sclerosis; ulcerative colitis; rheumatoid arthritis

Main topic: "Telemedicine in Poland and around the world with special session medical registries in Poland"
During session about registries, it was placed a key speeche of prof. Nello Martini (Former Director of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA).
Next step was a moderated discussion on topic "Current issues of medical registries in Poland: what has changed since March 2015?" between lecturers.

Principal topics of telemedicine's session:
USA perspective; Russia's view; Germany's solutions; telemedicine in Ukraine; legal regulations, HTA perspective; data security ways of financing etc.

Main topic: "Patient registers - a role in the health system, new trends and hopes for Polish patients"
The conference was divided into four parts.
The first part was a mini session ISPOR Poland Chapter's Board of Directions.
During the session on the current state of registers in Poland, there were lectures on specific examples of registers, such as the National Register of Tumors.
The third session focused on system solutions (legal, financing, HTA, IT capabilities).
Discussion panel was held at the end. We tried to find improvements and new opportunities for Poland.
